Welcome to the Planning, Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment for improvements to Highway 3 from St. Thomas to Aylmer in the City of St. Thomas, Municipality of Central Elgin, Town of Aylmer and Township of Malahide, all within Elgin County.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has retained Stantec Consulting Limited (Stantec) to undertake the Planning, Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment (EA).

The first update is as follows:

A Notice of Study Commencement will be posted in local newspapers and distributed to stakeholders. At this time the project team is gathering existing information about the study area.

Comments and information are being collected to assist the MTO in meeting the requirements of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. Information will be collected in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. All comments will be maintained on file for use during the study and, with the exception of personal information, may be included in study documentation and become part of the public record.
